Izzy Afaras on the way to taking 5/19 versus Tasmania
RANGERS AT THE UNDER 18S WOMEN’S NATIONALS - BENDIGO AND BALLARAT
A report on how our young Rangers are faring at the Under 18 National Championships to be held in Ballarat and Bendigo between 14th and 24th January:
With the 50 over finals looming there have been some fine performances from our NDs players in the T20s and the first round of the 50 overs.
CLICK HERE for the daily reports on nationalchamps.com.au you will see mentioned a number of times Anika Learoyd, Alisha Bates, Ally McGrath, Abbey Taylor and Lara Graham for ACT/NSW Country performances with both bat and ball (Rachel Trenaman has been on Sydney Thunder duties).
Grace Dignam has also captained a talented CAXI T20 team.
Izzy Afaras and Shivani Mehta for NSW Metro have also picked up mentions in the Daily reports for all round performances and Sarah Turner took the most of her opportunity opening for NSW Metro to top score in the 50 over game v Tasmania.
In the T20 Semi Tom Anderson’s ACT NSW Country team beat an undefeated NSW Metro team to book a place against a strong Queensland team but fell short in that T20 final. NSW Metro took some State revenge in beating that Queensland team in the first 50 over final effectively knocking them out of 50 overs final contention.
Bonus points will be critical to determine who will meet in the 50 over final with the ACT/NSW Country team looking good one point ahead of NSW Metro and CAXI with one game to play on Wednesday 23 January. NDs will be represented in the final whatever the outcome on Wednesday.
