BREAKERS AND METEORS UNVEIL NEW-LOOK SQUADS FOR 2019-20
Reigning Women’s National Cricket League champions NSW Breakers will field a new-look line-up this summer that again includes Ranger’s, Lauren Smith and Rachel Trenaman.Congratulations to Lauren and Rachel in what will be a big season for the 20-time WNCL champions, who claimed a third-straight domestic 50-over title last summer, but have bid farewell to six members of their title-winning side.
Down the Federal Highway, three Rangers have signed on with ACT Meteors for the 2019-20 Women’s National Cricket League season.
Best of luck to Isabelle Afaras who has earned her first state deal, and to Zoe Cooke and Matilda Lugg who have returned for the Meteors.
Former Meteor, left-arm spinner Sam Bates has signed with Tasmania.
NSW PREMIER CRICKET AWARDS
For the first time the Premiers Dinner integrated the Men’s and Women’s Premier Cricket competitions to celebrate the season that was 2018/19, and the Club collected their fair share of awards on the night.
First massive congratulations to the Women in taking out the prestigious Spirit of Cricket Award. This award is voted on by the Umpires across all games for excellence in upholding the game’s traditional values.Congratulations again to Women's Second Grade for taking out the Premiership, and also to Grace Dignam for being named Women's Second Grade Player of the Year and Isabelle Afaras for making the 1st Grade Team of the Year.
Adhering to the Club's motto of "Play Hard But Play Fair", Daniel Friedrich was again named as the Men's Second Grade Captain of the Year.
