WHAT CRICKET NSW REPORTED - 10 DECEMBER

"...Ross Pawson and William Buttleman score their debut First-Grade hundreds for Northern District during their victory over Mosman. Both men were unbeaten on 103 when play ended with Northern District on 4/304, well clear of Mosman’s score of 256. Pawson hit 13 fours and cleared the rope three times, while Buttleman hit 11 boundaries and three sixes.

Pawson finally hit his breakthrough century after debuting in First-Grade during 2016-17, while 19-year-old Buttleman debuted this season in a T20 match in late October, smashing 70 from 36 balls against Penrith. The two batsmen combined for a massive unbeaten fifth-wicket partnership of 216..."

"...Top of the table Bankstown made no mistake in continuing its dominance during the T20 Cup, defeating fourth-placed Northern District by eight wickets.

Bankstown restricted Northern District to 7/134 before reaching this score with ease after only 12.2 overs..."

Three out of five wins against the Mosman Cricket Club last weekend.

In First Grade, Ross Pawson lit up Alan Border Field as he scored his maiden First Grade Century along side Will Buttleman steering the Rangers to a huge win. Ross was promoted up the order (nightwatchman or not, we will never know) and with Will got the boys home. Congrats to both for an amazing innings and partnership.

Second Grade grinded and got the 10 wickets despite a gallant Whales side. Consistent and tight bowling from Charlie Taylor being the key difference.

Third Grade couldn't quite get there with early lose of wickets hampering any chance of chasing down 259. Cal Rainger the glimmer of hope with 71.

Fourth Grade with a small total on the board and grinded Mosman out of the game with extremely tight bowling and fielding. Jordy Fullagar the star of the day with 4fa. Big congratulations to Matthew Johnson who took his 400th wicket for the Rangers.

Fifth Grade never gave up and got the game to a position where a result could be forced. It wasn’t meant to be and lost on first innings with Pat Coburn in the 2nd dig compiling a nice 70 with Sean McAllister (60) and Lachlan Soles (57*) along side him.

Great weekend for the Rangers as they come into the next round against an always tough Sydney University.

The Quarter Final of the
Kingsgrove T20 cup was played at Bankstown Oval on Sunday and the Rangers unfortunately weren’t good enough to progress. Batting first, Scott Rodgie and Will Buttleman got the total too 134 but it wasn’t enough as it was chased two down by the Bulldogs who progress to the Semi Final. This brings out run in the cup to an end. Congratulations to the 1st Grade squad for making the playoffs.
