GREEN SHIELD - FINISHED THIRD - HOME QUARTER FINAL AT MTO
With Green Shield round games all wrapped up below is a recap of our run into the finals.
After coming out firing our Green Shield side started their campaign off by winning 4/4 with dominating performances with both bat and ball. This saw Ryan Swain and Cameron Tunks produce their first tons for the season.
Round 5 saw us take on a strong Blacktown side who posted 200 in a rain effected match. Duckworth Lewis required us to chance 187 in 35 overs. Unfortunately our boys couldn’t get over the line leaving us with our first loss of the season.
Our boys bounced back in round 6 against Sydney posting a strong total of 234 with plenty of starts from all our batsmen. Alistair Weston was a standout scoring a well constructed 59. Our boys then dominated with the ball to restrict Sydney to 129 in the 44th over to secure a dominant victory.
With confidence high our boys took on a strong Randwick-Petersham side at home in our final round game of the season. A century from Randwick captain saw them post a strong total of 226. After a shaking start losing 3-33, our boys bounced back thanks to a 112 run partnership between Harry Channels (68) and Spencer White. Spencer saw us home with a beautifully constructed 93* hitting them to all parts of the ground to secure the win for our boys.
Our consistent performances throughout the year have rewarded us with a home quarter final to be played at Mark Taylor Oval on Sunday, where our boys will be hungry for revenge against Blacktown.
