Schools Cup

NORTHERN DISTRICT SCHOOLS CUP

COMPETITION NEWS - SEASON 2021/22 - AS AT 18 MARCH 2022

The NDs School’s Cup celebrated it's 46th anniversary this season. The competition has a coveted history and provides opportunities for school cricketers, both boys and girls to show their talents, played within the age boundaries to Years 7 and 8 in experiencing T20 cricket.

Unfortunately the weather dictated the winners of the NDCC Schools Cup. Both scheduled Grand Final dates were washed away and joint winners were declared. Congratulations to Barker College and The Kings School.

Many thanks to organiser and committee-man, Gary Kerr, for his tireless work over many years in managing this competition.

HISTORY

The NDCC School's Cup is an annual competition played between secondary schools from the local area. The Cup is a knock-out structure, played under 20/20 over format, on school afternoons at the school grounds.

The Grand Finals were originally played in March at Mark Taylor Oval, Waitara. Many players who have played in the competition have gone on to play Grade Cricket at NDs.

The NDCC School's Cup was an initiative of Life Members, Tom Richmond and Neil Marks (also a Club Patron). Neil and Tom organised the very first competition in the 1975/76 season, which was won by Barker College from Knox Grammar.
