BACK TO WAITARA DAY – Unveiling the Pavilion and Launching of the Centenary Book
Representatives from Hornsby Council, Government Departments, Cricket NSW, All Abilities Cricket and Members & Friends of NDCC, gathered to witness and celebrate the unveiling of the Pavilion and the launch of the Centenary books at Mark Taylor Oval on Sat 7th Mar 2026.

From Alister Henskens SC MP ... “It was fantastic to join NDs on Saturday to inspect the new clubhouse as part of the $9m NSW Liberal Government investment, and for the launch of their centenary book, ‘Blue Gum & Willow: A History of the Northern District Cricket Club 1925-2025.
Before sharing a good chat with past players including former Australian Captain Mark Taylor AO, President of NDCC, Jeremy Hook, gave me a tour of the brand new pavilion at Mark Taylor Oval which looks incredible and is an important asset for our community”.
The official ending of years of hard work by a dedicated committee led by Jerry Hook. All emotions covered from excitement, frustration, bewilderment, anger ... and now ... elation.
There are words and phrases I’m sure many of us will never want to hear again, such as ... “Covid”, “Oberon soil”, “asbestos”, “scope deletion”, “variations”, “easement”, “receivership” and there are some words we never want to forget ... “Womens cricket, All Abilities, Centenary celebrations”, “Back to Waitara Day”, ... and “I wanna be an ND Ranger!”
We all celebrated the great outcomes for cricket, for rugby, for Hornsby Council and for the Hornsby community. We thank Alister Henskens, Matt Kean (and Gladys!) for the state grant that made all this possible.

Recognise those BBQ Kings ... Tony Porter (blue hat) & Geoff “Tongs” Witt (white hat). It didn’t take long for the crowd to digest over 200 sausages.

The 3 authors with dark circles under their eyes. The one missing is Hilary Griffith. Hilary was unable to get to the launch. His “Book of Records & Statistics” is just incredible and will stand as a benchmark for every other cricketing statistician in Australia!
CONGRATULATIONS TO CHRIS GREEN & LACHY SHAW IN THEIR BLUES PREMIERSHIP

Congrats Blues! This win was the team's first piece of major domestic silverware in either format since the 2020 21 season. Very proud of Chris Green and Lachy Shaw who participated well in the Final, and also to Charlie Anderson who contributed throughout the season. Well done Guys!

RESULTS IN QUARTER FINALS LAST WEEKEND
A mega weekend for the Rangers as finals cricket kicked off, with all 3 of our
remaining men’s sides progressing to the Semi-Finals this week!
2nd Grade
Batting first at the picturesque Old Kings, the boys found themselves behind the 8-ball early at 4/65. A
simply superb 128 run partnership from Daniel Anderson (81) and Xander Carstens (96) helped consolidate and then muscle the Rangers onto the front foot, before a lower order collapse saw us bowled out for a strong 294. With the ball, a gutsy effort led by Lachlan Bartlett (2/39) and Jack Cincotta (2/38) saw the boys in total command at 6/93 in the early parts of Day 2. However, as Parramatta merely needed a draw to progress through to the next stage, they shut up shop on a flat wicket, NDs only managing 1 more wicket before stumps on Day 2They will take on St George at Hurstville Oval. . Despite the result, 2s still progress to the Semi-Finals as the highest ranked ‘losing’ side.

3rd Grade
Batting first on a good wicket at MTO, NDs were in a spot of bother at 4/77 on the stroke of lunch on Day 1, despite a strong showing from Johnathan Stuart (54). Brody Camp (98) batted superbly after the break, supported aptly by Nick Apps (46) to guide the Rangers to a strong total of 275 in the dying stages of the first day. With the ball it was simply a Daniel Stickland (7/29) masterclass. Sticko sent poles flying late on Day 1, and continued the momentum into Day 2, decimating the Easts top and middle orders to completely wipe them out of the contest. Easts were eventually bowled out for 98, seeing 3s through to a home Semi-Final at MTO against Manly this weekend.
4th Grade - What. A. Game.

Batting first in a MUST win fixture at David Phillips, Anthony Bartlett (41) steadied the ship early before Josh McDowell (72) continued his fine form this season to put the Rangers in a strong position. However, a later clump of wickets saw the boys all out for a moderate 212. With the ball, things looked dire early as the UNSW openers got through the first 20 overs with little trouble, albeit not troubling the scorers very often. But as they say, when it rains it pours, and nothing spoke truer of skipper Daniel Friedrich’s (5/26) work with the ball. From 0/38, UNSW fell to 5/43 in the blink of an eye, Fred capturing 4 of those scalps. Despite lower order resistance, Riley Mackay (2/29) captured the final wicket in the dying stages of Day 2 to secure victory by 25 runs, and see 4s through to a Semi-Final clash against St George this weekend.

Congratulations to our Women’s 1st Grade side who played every game as a united team and supported one another throughout the season, celebrating each other’s achievements and successes along the way.
Thank you to everyone who represented the team this year, whether for one match or the entire season. Every player played an important role in the club.
A special note that 11 players made their 1st Grade debut this season. Each contributed strongly and was warmly welcomed into the group, a reflection of the culture being built within our Women’s program.
To our UK players, Danni, Bex and Bella, it has been an absolute pleasure having you in our 1st Grade side and around the club. We wish you all the very best for your upcoming seasons back home and would welcome you back anytime. A season to be proud of and a strong foundation to build on.

Prior to the start of the 2013/14 domestic season, she
moved to play for the ACT Meteors. Katie made her

On 7 February 2021, she carried her bat against South Australia, scoring 106 off 131 balls in a losing cause. During the 2020/21 WNCL season, she was the third-highest run-scorer with 418 runs at an average of 59.71.
In Jan 2022, Katie was named in Australia's A squad for their series against England A, with the matches being played alongside the Women's Ashes. Ahead of the 2022/23 WNCL season, she was named as the captain of the Meteors as a replacement for Angela Reakes. She was included in the team of the tournament for the 2023–24 Women's National Cricket League season with 471 runs at an average of 47.10 and a high score of 140*.
She was named as the Adelaide Striker's MVP following the conclusion of the 2023–24 Women's Big Bash League season, scoring 452 runs from 15 matches. In June 2024, she was added to the Australia A squad for the Indian tour of Australia. On 14 August, she scored a century against India A.
Mack rejoined Lancashire in 2025 on an overseas contract for the Metro One-Day Cup and the first three matches in the Vitality T20 Cup. In April 2025, she moved to the New South Wales Breakers ahead of the 2025/26 domestic season.
